Bangkok’s double film festival

27/04/2012

Two film festivals have kicked-off in Bangkok in news that may be of interest to movie lovers on Thailand holidays.

The new Spanish Film Week is showing seven movies from April 26 to May 2 at the Paragon Cineplex. Among the movies to be screened during the event are Chico & Rita and Blackthorn Sin Destino – which have both received plaudits from critics.

The festival was organised with the help of the Spanish Embassy and all the films will start daily at 7pm, meaning people on luxury holidays can spend the day sightseeing before chilling with a movie.

Thailand is a very popular luxury destination and the second movie event in Bangkok is the Hong Kong Film Festival, which got under way on Friday and runs until April 30.

People wanting to check out the festival are advised to head down to CentralWorld to see what all the fuss is about. Among the films is A Simple Life, which documents the story of a maid who suffers a stroke.
