Thailand set to host food festival

Thailand’s growing culinary reputation will be on full display this weekend as it hosts a food festival in the northern city of Chiang Mai from June 15 to 17.

It is the second time the event is being staged after it was held in Bangkok last March and April, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will be hoping this year’s edition, entitled ‘Miracle of Thai Food Festival 2012′, will be equally successful.

Thailand has a burgeoning reputation for exotic beach holidays and good cuisine and Mrs Suchada Borsub, executive director of the tourism investment department of the TAT, is confident that the festival will boost Thailand holidays even more.

Although it is being held in Chiang Mai, the event will contain foods from all four regions of the South East Asian country with different sections called Miracle of North, Amazing South, Isan Exotic, Heart of Central, taste innovations, and Royal Project products.
